Lead Cyber Security Analyst

About the Role
As a Lead Cyber Security Analyst at Hyland, you will serve as a senior technical leader and trusted advisor responsible for overseeing Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, Detection Engineering, Security Automation, and Security Modernization initiatives. You will lead and mentor Cyber Security Analysts across all levels (L1, L2, and L3), drive operational excellence, and partner with leadership to strengthen Hyland's overall security posture through advanced threat detection, AI-driven security capabilities, and next-generation security operations. This role is ideal for a strategic, results-driven security leader who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for innovation, automation, and building world-class security operations.
Your Role Responsibilities – Here's What You'll Do
- Provide leadership and day-to-day operational oversight for Security Operations Center (SOC) activities; lead, coordinate, and manage major cyber security incidents, investigations, and threat response efforts across L1, L2, and L3 analyst functions
- Oversee security monitoring, threat hunting, detection engineering, incident response, and vulnerability management activities; drive the development and execution of SOC strategies, roadmaps, operational processes, and performance improvements
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments; leverage AI-powered security technologies, automation platforms, and advanced analytics to improve detection and response capabilities
- Develop and maintain incident response plans, recovery procedures, playbooks, runbooks, and operational frameworks; support and administer enterprise security technologies including SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, Threat Intelligence, Security Posture Management, File Integrity Monitoring, and Cloud Security platforms
- Lead threat and vulnerability assessments, purple team exercises, and security readiness initiatives; conduct vendor risk reviews, technology assessments, and security architecture evaluations; present security metrics, risks, incidents, and strategic recommendations to leadership and executive stakeholders
- Mentor, coach, and develop Cyber Security Analysts across all levels; drive knowledge sharing, training, and technical skill development initiatives; foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence

Role Essentials – What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience; minimum 8+ years of experience in Cyber Security, including leadership responsibilities; proven experience leading Security Operations, Incident Response, and Threat Detection teams
- Expert knowledge of security architecture, security controls, networking, operating systems, and cloud environments; deep understanding of Microsoft and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, Threat Intelligence, and Security Monitoring technologies; experience with AI-assisted security operations, Agentic AI capabilities, automation technologies, and Model Context Protocols (MCP)
- Strong experience across Security Operations Center (SOC), Incident Response (IR), Threat Hunting, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Security Automation, Vulnerability Management, and Cloud Security
- Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and leadership skills; ability to present security metrics, risks, incidents, and strategic recommendations to leadership and executive stakeholders
What We'd Like to See – Preferred Skills
- Experience in SOC Transformation, Security Modernization, Incident Response Program Development, and Threat Hunting & Detection Engineering
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven security operations, Agentic AI security capabilities, and Security Automation & Orchestration (SOAR)
- Experience with MITRE ATT&CK Framework Mapping, Digital Forensics, Incident Investigation, and Purple Teaming & Security Validation
- Experience in Cloud Security (Azure, AWS, GCP), Security Architecture & Engineering, and Security Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC (GCIH, GCFA, GCIA, GCDA, GCTI), CompTIA Security+/CySA+/CASP+, Microsoft SC-200/AZ-500, Splunk Enterprise Security Certifications, SOAR Platform Certifications, or CEH
