About the Role
The Principal DevOps Engineer is responsible for the continuous integration, automation, and continuous deployment of applications and systems both internally and externally. In this role, you will design and lead CI/CD platforms, drive automation strategies, partner cross-functionally to develop practical solutions, and serve as an innovative thought leader who mentors and elevates the team. Your Role Responsibilities — Here's What You'll Do
- Design a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) platform; develop and lead in the execution of best practices including providing solution architectures and strategy for adoption.
- Optimize CI jobs for best efficient and lowest cost.
- Design solutions to automate the deployment of applications, using Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts and Ansible playbooks/roles; design monitoring and management tools and deployment processes to provide visibility with a focus on high availability.
- Partner with respective departments to develop practical automation solutions; participate in cross-functional team meetings to collaborate and ensure successful execution. In particular you’ll be responsible for providing developers with solutions that really ease their work day in, day out.
- Lead performance and test automation integration into the CI/CD pipeline; troubleshoot and resolve operational issues and assist in resolving highly complex issues arising from product upgrades, installations, and configurations.
- Operate as an innovative thought leader; proactively identify and improve internal efficiencies, grow knowledge of the team, and participate in professional associations, outreach activities, or educational opportunities to stay current on industry best practices and relevant technical skills.
- Mentor, influence, and collaborate with other developers and across teams; provide guidance to other team members.
Role Essentials — What You Bring
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps release management tools, with experience managing service container-based platforms and experience with configuration management tools.
- Experience in Linux and Windows administration, with experience with scripting tools and experience with configuration and administration of enterprise web applications.
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment SaaS environments, with experience working with key internal stakeholders and the ability to collaborate effectively with employees, customers, and partners from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with cross-functional teams, as a fast learner who is highly organized and experienced in demonstrating focus to complete the highest priorities.

- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing CI/CD platforms and deployment automation solutions, with a track record of providing solution architectures and strategy for adoption of best practices.
- Experience designing monitoring and management tools and deployment processes that provide visibility with a focus on high availability, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues.
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams to develop practical automation solutions, with experience participating in cross-functional team meetings to ensure successful execution.
- Experience leading performance and test automation integration into CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to resolve highly complex issues arising from product upgrades, installations, and configurations.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and collaborate with other developers and across teams, with a proactive approach to identifying and improving internal efficiencies and staying current on industry best practices.
